Arthur Erskine Ellis

British scientist, biologist and naturalist. Arthur Erskine Ellis was born in Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), India, but moved to England and lived in the Sutton area. He received his education at Kingswood School, Bath and St Edmund Hall, Oxford. In 1925 he was appointed the first biology master at Lancing College and in 1931 became Head of the Biology Department at Epsom College, a position he held until 1963.
