Dr. Mark A. Kishlansky was an American author and historian of seventeenth-century British politics. He was the Frank Baird, Jr. Professor of History at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kishlansky was born in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1970.
