Abram Fedorovich Ioffe (Russian: Абрам Фёдорович Иоффе) (* November 29, 1880; † October 14, 1960) was a Soviet physicist who is considered one of the founders of modern physics in Russia. He conducted intensive research in solid-state physics and was a pioneer in semiconductor research, mentoring and shaping many significant Soviet physicists, including Nobel laureates such as Lev Landau and Igor Kurchatov.
