John Wainwright

John Wainwright (1921-1995) was an English poet, novelist, and playwright. He won the Somerset Maugham Award in 1957 for his novel Hurry on Down, and a Cholmondeley Award for Poetry in 1975 for his collection, The Fires and the Phoenix. He wrote plays for the Royal Court Theatre, the Arts Theatre, and BBC Television.
