In the Introduction of this 35-page booklet, Professor Alvord explains how the Ordinance of 1787 and the laws created by the government of the Northwest Territory evolved into the laws of the Illinois Territory. Some of the 34 acts contained within are: -An act concerning the courts of common pleas and county courts -An act concerning the general court -A law to prevent frauds and perjuries.
