The Count of Monte Cristo

Edmond Dantes is a happy young seaman. He is popular with his employer and the men on his ship, and he has a beautiful lover, Mercedes. But he also has enemies who tell lies about him. On the day of his wedding, he is thrown into prison. There he meets a man who tells him about some treasure on the island of Monte Cristo. Will Edmond escape from prison? Will he find the treasure? And will he ever return home to Mercedes?
