The Founding Five

Angered by Barry Goldwater’s defeat in the 1964 Presidential election, five wealthy and powerful men devise a plan to get the country moving in the right direction. Their plan is a brilliant one and by the year 2035 the descendents of the first Founding Five, the name the conspirators have given themselves, secretly rule the nation through two entities created as fronts for their activities; the Coalition for Responsible Government and the Christian Confederation of America. Joshua Freeman sets out to uncover the identity of the conspirators, but along the way falls in love with the deeply religious Elizabeth Whalen. Realizing he may be placing Whalen in danger, Freeman abruptly ends their relationship.
