1985: The swiss-brazilian Edgar Ricardo von Buettner, at that time a 42 years old economist, photographer and teacher at the Institute for Ethnology at the Universty of Zuerich in Switzerland, visited in 1984 Salvador da Bahia, capital of the federal state of Bahia in Brazil. The "Baianas" he captured with his camera, are related with the most important afro-brazilian religion, the Candomblé. Most tourists, visiting Bahia, do not know, that the specialities offered by the [Baianas][1] in Salvador's streets, like acarajés and abarás are holy food.
