Learning to read through experience
Sobre este livro
This revision, like its predecessor published twenty years ago, extols the experience-chart-story method and puts considerably more emphasis on individualizing the materials. The book deals almost exclusively with beginning reading, although application of concepts set forth would extend throughout the primary grades. There are discussions regarding: sharing experiences; developing discussion skills; the coordination of speaking, writing, and reading; developing self-direction; effective use of resources; and teacher-pupil relationships. Includes numerous concrete illustrations of experience charts, stories, and book-making which is the most effective exposition of this valuable technique presently available. This book merits the attention of all teachers who work with beginning readers.
