Stealing people

Six children of wealthy international families vanish into the London night, taken in a single flawless pass by a phantom crime syndicate. Assigned by the baffled Metropolitan Police Department to investigate, Detective Inspector Mercy Danquah is at sea. The kidnappers are ruthless and well organized, their resources are seemingly limitless, and their motives unclear. They demand 25 million per hostage for unspecified "expenses" and, as the gang teases out the awful consequences for failure to deliver, Mercy discovers, to her horror, that their reach extends into the lives of her loved ones.
