For Abbie Fairchild, an art teacher and aspiring artist, the opportunity to spend a week at Penfel Hall with its grand art gallery is a dream come true. But the field trip takes a scandalous turn when the eccentric dowager Lady Penfel shamelessly orchestrates a petticoat rebellion, encouraging the young ladies in Abbie's care to make cakes of themselves over various rogues. For why should gentlemen have all the fun and the ladies have none? Why indeed, Abbie wonders, when she meets the devilishly attractive Lord Penfel.
