Rhiow, head of the feline team that saved New York City in the first book, returns along with her partners Urruah and Arhu, called upon to use their wizardly powers to avert disaster in Victorian England. During their trip to the past via wizardly magic, the cats meet up with a fifteen-year-old Arthur Conan Doyle, Queen Victoria herself, E.A. Wallis Budge, and various other historical figures.
